100 Days Challenge - YUMA (BANQUET) [2 of 2]

Since I thought that doing all 100 days in one post was getting way too long I decided to split it up into 2 entries that covered 50 days each. So here's part 2 with days 51 through 100.

Day 51 - What makes your oshi cute

His smile is cute and the way he gets embarrassed by the weirdest things while other things that would be mortifying seem fine lol. Oh and his faces and silly dances.

Day 52 - What makes your oshi cool

When he is dancing. There's just something about the way he moves. And when he raps. His low rap voice is pretty cool and special and not something just anyone can do.

Day 53 - How does your oshi 'heal' you / make you feel better

Yuma's 'healing' power is his personality, really. The way he shows his feelings and the way he listens to you and genuinely tries to cheer you up or help you with your worries or problems somehow. His voice is also very calming :<

Day 54 - Something your oshi did that moved you

When he gets all and passionate, when he expresses his genuine feelings towards the fans. When he speaks as BQT's leader. Especially with all the things that happened recently. His blog entry then was just リーダーーーー

Day 55 - What do you like about your oshi's lives

With lives it really depends what kind we're talking about since there are huge differences between 単独、たいばん、ワンマン etc here. I love the 単独 ones because they are just the idiots they are on stage. Also because it's where they try new stuff etc so it's fun!

Day 56 - Which cheki with your oshi do you like the best

Day 57 - Something about your oshi you noticed recently

Model Yuma. Haven't had that since the year BQT was formed. I kinda like looking at the back of his neck... weird? XD?

Day 58 - How long has it been since you met your oshi

When I first saw him on stage? Sometime last year I reckon... or even the year before. When I really became his fan? This year.

Day 59 - Something you'd like your oshi to do on video

1.) Dance videooooooo
2.) Self-Intro or answering like 100 questions or sth?
3.) Yuma with animals? because... cute.

Day 60 - How much stronger has your love for your oshi become (over time)

Yeah my feelings escalated quickly lol... From "I guess I'll start following you" to "we're basically friends now"? lol

Day 61 - Something your oshi said to you that made you happy

When he was worried about me and tried to cheer me up... but I guess still that "okaeri!!" with open arms... that's gonna be hard to beat for a while.

Day 62 - The furthest you've traveled for your oshi

Nowhere far because corona.

Day 63 - Something you discovered as you supported your oshi

Rather than a thing, it's the people. I mentioned it before but thanks to Yuma and BANQUET, I started making friends in the fandom and out and it's made life more fun and also given me new perspectives and views on things. It's been a learning experience.

Day 64 - Pictures of your oshi that you recommend (Part 3)

I like spicy food. I like Yuma. So Yuma with spicy food. And I just realized this was supposed to be pictures but I read it as 'a video' so uh whoops.

Day 65 - A cheki with your oshi you took recently

Day 66 - Please tell us about what you think about your oshi right now

Is it strange to say that I like him a lot as a person and human being rather than an artist? Like, yes, I love watching him perform but more than that I just like him as he is. He's by no means perfect and he has his weird sides but his heart is in the right place.

BIGO > Insta > Twitter > TikTok

Day 69 - Something you're careful of as a fan / in fandom

With all the teasing and everything, I still make sure to say or show that he's my number 1 oshi so as not to piss other ppl off or to be seen as a DD or sth.

Day 70 - Fashion of your oshi that you like

Yuma usually wears simple things and I really like that. Jeans or slacks and a T-shirt or shirt... or monotone sweaters/hoodies. oh and cat. XD

Day 71 - What is the most enjoyable about being a fan

Most fun? Hm, I'd say the most fun and rewarding about being in BQT fandom in general is that you feel like you're a part of it all, that you're involved. The best thing about being a Yuma oshi is that he gives back almost as much as he receives

Day 72 - What is your oshi's selling point

His personality, I think. He is kind, a hard worker, serious when he needs or should be but super silly and dumb in other moments/situations, ... a really well rounded person? Otherwise his dancing and his voice. And he's good looking, too :x yeah I'm biased.

Day 73 - What would you do if you were to go on a date with your oshi

Going somewhere near the ocean and go for a stroll or drive. Stop somewhere to have good food, walk off the food again and then go home to one of our apartments to watch a movie then maybe home cooked dinner (if we're not too full still). A relaxing day.

Day 74 - A shocking conversation you had with your oshi

Not shocking in the usual sense but I think the private convo we had about how my mental health was not doing great and him expressing genuine concern over it. I'll elaborate on the blog.

Day 75 - Which live are you looking forward to the most right now

Day 76 - Which stage outfit / costume of your oshi do you like the most

Choosing from the ones I've seen him in in person, probably the leather jacket from Don't look back and his outfit from Takaramono. Choosing from all outfits the "MadKid" prince ones and if it counts, the BQT jersey... If I had to choose only 1 outfit, I might choose the Takaramono ones because I've seen him in that one the most and I have good memories of the times when I did see him in it. Number 2 would be the leather jackets because yessss! (But I also really like the jersey...ah, I can't choose lol)

Day 77 - What flower would you give your oshi if you could give them one

I would give Yuma a potted plant and one that is safe for Maru and Koge to be around, too. I read that orchid, roses or sunflowers are safe for cats to be around. Sunflowers are hard to get as a potted plant, unless I grew them myself maybe? So either roses or an orchid.

Roses seem a bit too 'cliche' so I'd probably go for an orchid (wahaha expensive stuff). Probably green or purple orchids (not just because of member colours but because of the symbolism...). Most likely purple because my mum also loves those (wtf is that reasoning? lol).

Day 78 - Something your oshi said to you recently

"When you work, work, when you have fun, have fun and don't think about work. It's important to be able to let go and relax. So now, look at me and don't think about work :3 Let's have fun!"

Was what Yuma told me when I ran to make it in time for their in store event and got there still wearing my suit and with my name-tag on and business cards in my pocket. It's good advice. And I really appreciate it when he calls me out for being dumb about things... he's looking out for me and I do sometimes need a good slap (a verbal one, preferably) to snap out of a stupid place I've maneuvered myself into because of work or life.

Day 79 - Something you want your oshi to tell you / say to you

This is something I thought about a lot fairly recently but...this year I'd really like for Yuma to be able to tell me "Happy Birthday" on my actual birthday. I don't know if I can make this happen yet but I will try my hardest. It's not something that happens often...maybe just once in a lifetime.

Day 80 - Something you'd like to ask your oshi

Right now? Probably "Are you taking care of yourself?" because the one-man is coming closer with each day and I heard from friends how Yuma was close to tears last night at the live because he got emotional about things and how they all felt like he's pushing himself so hard as the leader and worrying about everything - maybe all by himself.

Day 81 - How dependent are you on your oshi

Very and yet not all that much? It's hard to describe. I mean, I can go on living without him and all and I don't have to constantly see him but I do feel sad whenever I cannot see him and I feel really happy when I am able to see him? Idk I can't put it into words well.

Day 82 - Your ideal live situation

Right now, honestly, just a NORMAL live. One where we do not have to wear masks or socially distance, one where we can just have fun like we used to. One where you can do call&response... you get the idea.

On a different note, I also hope for the one-man venue to no be EXTREMELY empty. Right now, with all restrictions in place, capacity is at 1/3 already. I hope we can fill at least that much. It's honestly sad, though because last year's one-man was 500 people... and with this venue, the capacity would have been larger than that but due to the pandemic, a maximum of 350 is all we'll be able to get in. Sigh.

Day 83 - A song you'd like to listen to with your oshi

Oof... I have horrible knowledge of music these days because I usually only listen to my fav artists and that's him and his group and a couple others he knows lol Yuma knows a lot more music than I do, so my answer here would be whatever he recommends that we listen to.

Day 84 - Declare something to your oshi

Why is it so difficult to think of a good birthday present for youuuuu!!!?!?!?!?!?

Day 85 - After 85 days, are you still only looking at your oshi

Yep. And it's been over 85 days at this point because I took breaks from this and whatnot...so I guess this is a good thing?

Day 86 - What would you like to work on for the sake of your oshi

My language skills and maybe a little bit on my health, too. Not because I want to look better to appeal to him but to look healthy and happy so that he doesn't worry about me.

Day 87 - How necessary is your oshi for you

On a scale of 1 - 10 where 10 is absolutely necessary and 1 is not necessary at all... I'd probably say 6? Not absolutely necessary but also not completely unnecessary... leaning towards necessary because he does help me a lot with things, helps me to deal and cope with things.

Day 88 - The moment when you thought that you liked your oshi the most

"Okaeri" - "Tadaima"

Day 89 - Something that left a deep impression on you that was not a live

Our private conversations. And apart from that, the times when Yuma talked about his conviction and motivation etc. on stream or in front of a TV camera.

Day 90 - What has changed about how you treat your oshi

We've gone from 'oshi-fan' to more of a 'friends' kind of relationship and I think that's also kind of how we treat each other and interact with each other. Like, we still have an 'artist-fan' relationship in the strict sense but when you see us talking to each other it doesn't really seem that way.

Day 91 - A game you want to play with your oshi

Would love to make good on Yusuke's promise to play the Jinro Game with all of BQT. I'd also love to play any kind of old school board game or card game with them because it would be fun.

Day 92 - A performance of your oshi you like

Unfortunately there is no footage of more recent ones but these are two older ones I really like. The second one is at TOGI Bar, the venue where BQT always do their tandoku lives, so that one also has some kind of emotional value to it. For the cover song, I really like it when they do Orange Range covers.

Day 93 - Praise your oshi for something they did well

The goods design for the one-man is so nice. Otherwise, just Yuma being Yuma. Working hard, worrying about others before himself, thinking about so many things, taking care of things, doing things... Yuma is amazing for being able to do all of that, to handle all of that. I really admire and respect that.

Day 94 - Tell us about your love for your oshi again / one more time

I love him like a friend would. A friend, a comrade, maybe even a bit like family. So I think it is quite different from what people usually feel towards their oshi. But that's...how things are.

Day 95 - What kind of fan do you wan to be

Someone who is well and truly able to support him and the group. Not just financially but also in other ways that go beyond 'just being a fan'.

And on a personal level, maybe someone who is able to give him as much emotional support as he gives me. But I feel a lot less confident here...

Day 96 - What you think your oshi worked the hardest on / When did you think your oshi worked hard

Right now. He is working so hard right now. And I hope it will be worth it. I hope the 29th will be a success and will hopefully alleviate some of the stress and worries from him.

Day 97 - What kind of existence is your oshi for you

A friend, a person to confide in, a person who picks me up when I'm down. Someone who makes me smile and laugh when I'm sad or tired or angry.

Day 98 - What kind of memories would you like to make with your oshi from now on

For right now right now, I'd like to be able to have a good time with him and help him on the 29th.

Day 99 - Compared to 100 days ago, are you happy with your oshi

Yes. Very.

Day 100 - Are you still supporting your oshi as much as you did 100 days ago

Pretty much. Maybe not as much in the sense of, I don't have time to talk to him or watch him much because of work and schedules and whatnot but... the will and emotions are still there.
